The numinous and unearthly cathedrals transcend the heart with powerful immediacy. Such a vision of sacredness marvelously affects the heart and mind. Through my eyes this extravagantly emotional art of the cathedrals reaches the sublime. I am not after realism in my paintings because that does not apply here. The cathedrals are idealistic and exalted. I want to go to the Romantic core in my work.
